Choose what you're setting up today and we'll walk you through the steps.
Collect votes or opinions from a public audience — no voter list required.
3 stepsRun a structured vote with a defined voter list, ballots, and notifications.
6 stepsPolling — Your Steps
If you want to organize your poll under a personal topic — like "The Maplewood Film Festival" or "The SIAC Fan's Choice MVP Award" — create it here first. Topics are personal categories only you can assign to your polls.
Create your poll — add the items, candidates, or options people will be voting on. Assign a topic or system category if you'd like it grouped. This is the foundation of every vote2sort event.
Pay for your topic to make your polls discoverable. Until payment is complete, your topic will not be searchable or accessible — even with a direct link. Polling is a flat-rate fee per topic, processed securely through Stripe.
That's it! Once your topic is paid and your poll is ready, it's ready to share.
Elections — Your Steps
Start by creating your election — give it a name, define the voting window, and configure the rules. Once your election exists, polls and contests can be assigned to it.
Build the list of candidates, nominees, or choices that voters will see on their ballot. You'll assign this poll or contest to your election here.
Your poll or contest is already assigned to the ballot from the Polls & Contests screen. Use this screen to set the display order and finalize how the ballot will appear to voters.
Upload or manage your voter list — define who is authorized to participate in this election. You control access. Add and verify your full voter list here before moving on, since voter count affects your payment amount.
Pay for your election to make it live. Election pricing is based on your voter count. Once payment is complete, your election can be published and voters will be able to cast their ballots. Payment is processed securely through Stripe.
Send email notifications to your voters. This step generates each voter's unique voting link and delivers it to their inbox. Your election must be paid for before voter links will work. You can notify before or after publishing — notifying early lets voters have their link ready when voting opens.
